Vote Republican Ronnie Clark For Guadalupe County Commissioner PCT. 2

Stand for Safety and Security

Conservative Leadership for Guadalupe County
My name is Ronnie Clark, and I’ve been proud to call Staples home for 30 years. I am self-employed for 26 years and a Guadalupe County resident for 31 years. My wife, Karlin, and I have been married for 34 wonderful years, and together we’ve raised two daughters who are now raising families of their own. Our three grandchildren inspire me every day to work toward a stronger, safer, and more resilient future for Guadalupe County.

Proven Local Leadership
I assisted in the incorporation of the City of Staples in 2008 and have served on the City Council ever since. For the last four years as Mayor, I’ve worked every day to strengthen public safety, improve infrastructure, and bring our community together.
✔️ Helped incorporate the City of Staples in 2008 and served on the City Council since its founding
✔️ Created the City of Staples Police Department
✔️ Secured grants for two fully equipped Ford Explorer police cruisers, including radios, cameras, and body cameras
✔️ Increased street lighting across the city by 40% to improve public safety
✔️ Worked closely with the Friends of Historic Staples to completely refurbish our City Hall building through donations and Municipal Development District funds, including a new asphalt parking lot and a covered area for police vehicle protection
✔️ Fully renovated the city park with a new playground for the kids, picnic tables on concrete slabs, handicap parking and a security fence along the main highway
✔️ Worked with local residents to resolve drainage issues by replacing an outdated culvert
✔️ Replaced a badly worn fence at the historic African-American Cemetery to improve protection and safety
✔️ Had a parking lot built for Volunteer Fire Department—because our firefighters deserve safe, reliable facilities
All achieved without a city property tax!
When emergencies hit, I was there:
• Coordinated with Guadalupe County Emergency Management during the 2021 ice storm to deliver pallets of water to residents
• Worked with FEMA following the 2024 tornado to help families recover
• Led a fundraising effort with Operation Triage and a GoFundMe campaign to completely rebuild the home of a 78-year-old disabled veteran destroyed by the tornado.
I also worked with TxDOT to install LED warning signs at a dangerous stretch of highway where one life was lost and more than 12 wrecks occurred in a single year.
Just as important, I focused on building community pride:
Created the annual 4th of July Freedom Fest
Expanded Christmas in the Park, now enjoyed by families from multiple surrounding communities.
I protected our city from harmful overdevelopment by creating an alternate route for the county thoroughfare plan, preventing FM 621 from becoming a 120-foot right-of-way through the heart of Staples—a move that would have devastated our community. My alternate route was included in the most recent thoroughfare plan map.
This is what local leadership looks like — showing up, getting results, and always putting our community first.
As your Guadalupe County Commissioner for Precinct 2, I will bring the same dedication and leadership to every resident. I will continue to fight for private property rights, stand up to out-of-control development that profits and moves on, and work with legislators to limit excessive TCEQ wastewater permits—protecting our precious water resources while ensuring smart, responsible growth.
I will always stand with our Volunteer Firefighters and our Veterans.
Help me fight for you.
